Location
Leadville & Twin Lakes are located in the geographic center
of Colorado on US Highway 24, approximately 103 miles west of
Denver and 129 miles northwest of Colorado Springs. All of the
highways in Lake County have been designated by the State of Colorado
as the Top of the Rockies Scenic and Historic Byway. Highway 24
North is also the Tenth Mountain Division Memorial Highway. All
highways are maintained for safe, year-round travel making Leadville/Lake
County easily accessible.
Transportation
Leadville/Lake County and Twin Lakes can be reached by automobile
or by flying into Denver, Colorado Springs or the Eagle County
Airport. The Lake County Airport does not have commercial service
but can be accessed by private craft. Car rentals are available
at the airports. Leadville is not accessible by public ground
transportation.
