"Leadville Boom Days" is a Colorado Mountain Festival and
historical celebration of the Old West, with gunslingers,
burro races, contests of mining skill, and a street fair with over
100 food and craft booths. This annual event was selected by Colorado
for documentation and preservation by the U.S. Library of Congress
as a Local Legacy of national interest.
Leadville is located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, two miles above sea level. The historic mining town is nestled in a high valley among snow capped mountains. Come to Leadville and enjoy the beauty of the mountains, the history of an 1880's mining camp, and the friendly people of Leadville, Colorado on its biggest weekend of the year!

Festival
events span three days of fun, food, and recreational activities for
the whole family. There are historic contests of individual
mining skill, Annual Gun Show, a Motorcycle Rodeo,
the popular Boom Days Parade, and our world-famous 21 mile International
Pack Burro Race. There are always a tons of things to see and do,
including children's events and a huge variety of supporting events,
such as a street fair, a parade, street-side entertainment, costume
contests, the "Mosey" contest, the Outhouse Race, and much
more!
