4 -- Leadville 4th of July Celebrations : The July 4th Parade will kick the festivities off at 10 a.m. Then find your way to sloppyjoes on the courthouse lawn where you can witness local entertainment while having your face painted. Enjoy Dennis Michael's Comedy Magic Show before you try your luck at the 3-legged race among many other all-time favorites. Save room for pie...yes...there will be a pie eating contest. The Heaters will stop by for a free concert. Of course the fireworks will commence at dusk.

14-18 -- Challenger British Soccer Camp : Challenger has developed one of the most innovative methods of coaching in the U.S. While they focus on teaching key techniques and technical components of soccer, they are also committed to developing the whole child. They coach soccer skills within a framework of character development based on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. With you will be an experienced guide and you will be issued a wildflower booklet so that you can find them along the route. 1-3 -- Leadville Boom Days Celebration Weekend : Leadville’s oldest continual, Boom Days begins on Friday evening and goes through Sunday afternoon. Featuring a large parade, street races and mining events, this event celebrates Leadville’s Victorian heritage and rough and tumble history. A weekend of fun all members of the family are sure to enjoy.

TBA -- Leadville Trail 100 Ultramarathon 100 Mile Foot Race : This ultramarathon has taken its place among the toughest 100 mile races in the country. Leaving Leadville at 4:00 A.M. over 500 runners from all over the country make it their goal to be among the finishers. This race has a 30-hour cutoff. The awards ceremony is held on Sunday at noon in the Sixth Street Gym. Hundreds of volunteers support this race, the next best thing to running is volunteering. Contact Merilee at 719-486-3502.

TBA -- Leadville's 25th Annual No O2 5k Walk & 10k Run : The No O2 10K Run and the No O2 5K Walk offer a brisk and rarefied mountain atmosphere and unparalleled mountain views. The No O2 10K is the highest 10K race in the United States, reaching 10,608 feet at its highest point. The courses wind through the historic Leadville Mining District of the 1880's on asphalt and dirt roads, bike trails, and old abandoned narrow gage railroad grades. Both events begin and end at Hard Rock Park in downtown Leadville, the walk starts at 9:30 am, the run at 10:00 am.

TBA -- 6th Annual Leadville High Altitude Duathlon : 8am. a 4.3-mile run, 25- mile bike, 6.2-mile run. The running course is a mix of both paved and county dirt roads. The bike portion is completely paved with a counterclockwise lap around Turquoise Lake. The race will start, transition and finish on West 6th Street, at the parking lot of the Lake County Courthouse. Packet pickup and registration begins at 6 a.m. at the courthouse parking lot area. Teams can register as an Individual or in teams of two or three.
